Current Rewards Credit Cards (as of 9/10/2017)
American Express Blue Cash Preferred card which offers 6% back at Supermarkets, 3% at gas stations and big chain stores, and 1% on all other purchases. There is a $95 annual fee, but I've found the benefits and cashback far outweigh that fee. We personally got over $700 in cash back last year.
Capitol One Venture Card. Which is also a highly recommended card. It came with a 40,000 point sign on bonus, and we'll "Earn unlimited 2X miles—that's 2 miles for every dollar you spend on purchases. 100 miles is equal to $1 in travel rewards." The annual fee is low at $59, and it has no foreign transaction fees.
Southwest Rapid Rewards – Earn 40,000 points after spending $1,000 in 3 months. Low $69 annual fee. 3,000 anniversary points each year. No black out dates. SW flights are about 60 points per dollar (so an $89 flight will be about 5,300 points) you will still need to pay cash for taxes and fees which are usually a couple bucks.
